Can I remove my exhaust?
As per ANDRA rule 4.1.4:
All vehicles in Super Street eliminator and all vehicles fitted with rotary engines not using turbochargers will be required to use effective muffling devices limiting noise levels to 98 dba measured at 30 meters.
This includes all vehicles running 11.00 and slower.
Competitors at Hidden Valley International Drag Strip will be required to use muffling devices on all Street and Super Street class vehicles at both competition and Off Street events in line with ANDRA rules.
What happens if I run faster than 10.99 in my car?
After queries by entrants on when they must adhere to all safety, licensing and other requirements associated with running 10.99sec or quicker in a vehicle the following clarification has been received from ANDRA:
"There is no grace for competitors running 10.99 or quicker ....Always remember that once a vehicle has run 10.99 or quicker they have a ‘known performance’ of being this quick. Our rules state that once a vehicle has this ‘known performance’ that they must meet the appropriate requirements. These must also be met before they are then permitted to compete at any further events.
People have continually stated that the "air was good" or that "they’ll turn of the NOS", but the vehicle has proved it is capable of running these times and must meet the rules and regulations pertaining to this performance level."
HVDRA will not allow NOS to be disabled, tyres to be changed, boost to be lowered, or other modifications made to reduce the performance of the vehicle simply to circumvent these important safety rules.
Once a vehicle has run 10.99sec or quicker the vehicle will not be able to enter any further events, including Off Street events and Test & Tunes, until all requirements are fulfilled.
Competitors may be asked to immediately withdraw from an event at the meet directors discretion.
Details on the requirements that need to be fulfilled may be obtained from the ANDRA Drag Racing Official Rule Book.
